As we all know, Rod is a hardworking, fast talking man who always has a brainstorm ready. He is extremely passionate about his work, and equally passionate about KANDU and Best Events Catering. He refers to the company as “the family business” because that is how important his coworkers and the company is to him. He holds it all close to his heart, and it shows in his daily commitment and to anyone lucky enough to work with him for their event. He constantly pushes his employees to climb higher, think bigger and always find a way to overcome. He pushes these ideas at the workplace and also instills them in their character for lifelong lessons. I know it’s hard to believe, but there are moments when Rod is not in ‘work mode’. He has built an ever evolving garden in his backyard. He is also a creative welder, and an avid traveler.

Kelly attended St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, with a focus in Art History, and moved back to Janesville to be closer to family. Best Events was a perfect fit for her creative nature. She enjoys the fun of her job and working with great people; both in her office and her customers. Plus, who doesn’t love playing on Pinterest and get paid for it? When she is not at work keeping Rodney in-line, you will find her with her husband and two children, traveling, cheering on the Packers or Antiquing.

Ramos came in like a wrecking ball. Chris has been involved with non-profits and business planning since 1999. After graduating from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design he started working at The Janesville Gazette. Chris immediately found himself attached to the city and the business community.

As the Business Development Manager, Chris is always up for a challenge and brings a wide range of problem solving and forward thinking for BEST Events and their customers. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Janesville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (JACVB) and is involved with various non-profits and fundraiser developments.

In his free time he tries to keep his wife out of Target and is always entertained by his children. Chris enjoys reading comic books, eating anything rolled in sugar and writing science-fiction. He also has no problem with shameless plugs (www.readchrisramos.com)

Executive Chef at BEST Events Catering Janesville, Chris brings a unique flair to the catering industry. One of his many specialties is practiced as an accomplished saucier and award winning competition chef, oversees almost 2,800 events every year catering for events ranging from 2 to well over 2,000 guests. Chef Chris has catered to the Super Nanny, styled food for Martha Stewart Living magazine and Lands End, served former Presidents, Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates, CEO’s, rock stars such as John Oates, Richard Marx, celebrities including Kelsey Grammer, Jon Voight, Kevin Farley plus more and is one of the most sought after local chefs for international and specialty cuisine.

A Janesville native and the fourth of five children, Sheila graduated school at University of Purdue taking courses in Hospitality and Tourism Management. After ten years working in hospitality for the Cruise Ship industry, and with over 25 years of catering/hospitality experience she attempted to come closer to Janesville but another adventure was in her future:  she spent the next three years managing the Dining Room and Paradise Inn at Mount Rainier National Park, and managing the 19th Hole at Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, FL. Family brought her back home to Janesville in 2004. She working at Red Robin as a Bartender, Waiter, and trainer before joining Best Events Catering as the Catering Manager in February of 2014.

As her career illustrates, Sheila loves to travel. Over the years she has visited or lived in every state but Alaska and Hawaii. She has also traveled to about 20 countries. She hopes to find time to continue her travels and read a few good books in between events.

Kimberly has worked in the service industry for 14 years and has been with Best Events since February of 2015. She completed her generals at UW-Parkside and UW-Milwaukee before graduating with a certificate in Floral Design and associates degree in Meeting & Event Management from Madison College in 2012. After graduation she moved back to Milton to pursue her career at Best Events and has finally settled in Fort Atkinson with her boyfriend, Justin. In her free time you’ll often find her at the beach, on a road trip with friends or cheering on the Badgers and Packers every weekend.

Amanda is a botanical enthusiast, and studied horticulture and landscape design. She started her career in event design and fresh floral for the thrill of something new every day. She is intrigued by nature, and has a passionate sense of adventure. Her partner in crime is her 4 year old daughter, Zoey, whose fresh view of life keeps Amanda inspired.
